DCOM places great importance on account and customer information security. Therefore, DCOM applies various modern technologies such as integrating OTP codes into the application, using biometric security, etc., to help customers protect their accounts as well as their assets.
In addition, you should remain vigilant and avoid revealing your account, password, etc., to prevent cases of information theft, data breaches, or more seriously, financial loss and leakage of personal information.
How does DCOM keep your account safe and secured?
1. Secure your login information and ATM card
- Do not share your PIN, login credentials, password, or ATM card and card information with anyone.
- Do not write down or store passwords on your computer, phone, or cloud services.
2. Protect your DCOM account
- Set a strong and unique password: DCOM recommends customers avoid using simple passwords such as (1234, abcd, 1111…). Do not reuse the same password for multiple accounts.
- Avoid using personal information (birthdate, phone number, license plate, etc.) as your password. Instead, use passwords containing special characters (!@#$,…), numbers, or uppercase letters to enhance security.
3. Protect your access devices:
- Set a passcode, fingerprint lock (e.g., TouchID), or facial recognition (e.g., FaceID) for the DCOM app and your phone.
- Always lock your screen when not in use.
4. Be cautious of suspicious messages and emails
- Do not click on links from suspicious SMS or emails, even if the sender appears to be DCOMJP or addresses like ***The 2us2 11 help.sendmoney.jp or kM.co.jp.
- DCOM will never ask you to provide your password via a link.
- DCOM staff will never request sensitive information such as your account password, email password, or OTP via links or any other method.
5. Manage and monitor devices logged into your DCOM account
- Starting from version 5.0 of the DCOM app, you can check which devices have accessed your DCOM account. This allows you to monitor and log out of unnecessary devices to keep your account secure.
- This feature is extremely useful for protecting your account in case your phone or mobile device is lost or replaced.
6. Monitor and respond promptly
- Regularly check your account balance and transaction history.
- If you detect any unusual transactions or suspect a data breach, change your password immediately and contact DCOM for support.
7. Do not log into your account while using public networks
- Public Wi-Fi may seem safe and convenient for browsing social media, but it is one of the riskiest internet connection points where your information can easily be stolen.
Public Wi-Fi connections are vulnerable to information theft.
Public Wi-Fi (WLAN) is a weakly configured, unencrypted network. Hackers can easily monitor, attack, or install malware and tracking software to steal your data.
8. Always keep the app updated
- Use the latest version of the DCOM App to ensure you receive all security patches.
- Contact the DCOM Facebook Page, type “HELP,” and select key number 1 to speak with a support representative.
